Want answers for your symptoms?
DVT can be silent, until it isn’t.
A clot that travels to your lungs can be fatal within hours. Understand your risk before it becomes an emergency.
What
What is Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)?
DVT is a condition where a blood clot forms in a deep vein, most commonly in the legs or thighs. These clots can partially or completely block blood flow, leading to symptoms such as leg swelling, pain, warmth, or redness.
Certain factors increase the risk of DVT, including:
- Prolonged sitting or travel
- Working in jobs which require prolonged standing or static positions
- Recent Surgery
- Pregnancy
- Obesity
- Smoking
- Certain medical conditions
⚠️ Some DVT cases show no symptoms until a PE occurs
DVT is important to detect early because a clot can sometimes break loose and travel to the lungs, causing a serious condition known as a pulmonary embolism (PE).
Deep Vein Thrombosis
A blood clot forms silently in the deep vein of the leg — often with no warning
- Clot blocks blood flow deep in the leg vein
- Leg may feel swollen, warm or painful — or nothing at all
- Clot can dislodge and enter the bloodstream at any moment
Pulmonary Embolism
The clot reaches the lungs — blocking oxygen. This can cause cardiac arrest and death
- Clot travels through the heart into the pulmonary artery
- Lung is starved of blood — oxygen fails to reach vital organs
- Can cause sudden cardiac arrest — fatal within hours
WHY Start
Why get a DVT Risk Assessment
This isn’t just a screening.
Our $150 DVT Risk Assessment is designed to answer the questions that matter most:
- Do I currently have a blood clot in my veins?
- How high is my personal risk of developing a pulmonary embolism?
- What are my treatment options if a clot is found?
- What can I do right now to reduce my risk?
You’ll leave with a clear picture of your vascular health, and a plan, not just a diagnosis.
Many patients come in thinking their leg ache is nothing serious, and we find a clot that could have reached their lungs. Early intervention saves lives.

Who Should Book This Risk Assessment?

- Itchy or discoloured skin near veins
- Veins near the skin appear enlarged, hard, or sore
- Recently had surgery, a long flight, or prolonged bed rest

Early detection helps address worsening pain, blood clot risks, venous ulcers, and potential PE.
Do note that many who suffer from DVT may not experience any obvious symptoms.

FAQ
Is the $150 risk assessment worth it if I'm not sure I need treatment?
Absolutely. Many patients discover their symptoms are less severe than expected, whilst others learn about prevention strategies that save thousands later. The comprehensive assessment provides peace of mind and clear direction regardless of your condition severity.
I'm not sure if I have varicose veins or DVT. What should I do?
Symptoms of both conditions may overlap. As such, feel free to book any of our $150 screening and our vascular surgeons will advise you accordingly at the initial consultation.
Can I use Medisave for the screening?
The screening consultation and diagnostic imaging can often be claimed through Medisave when medically necessary. Our team will help assess your eligibility and handle the documentation.
How long does the screening appointment take?
Plan for 30 to 45 minutes total. This includes consultation, imaging, results review, and treatment planning discussion.
What if I decide not to proceed with treatment after screening?
No problem at all. The screening provides valuable information about your vascular health regardless of whether you choose treatment. Many patients use the assessment for monitoring and prevention strategies.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No referral required. You can book directly with our vascular specialist. However, having a referral may help with insurance claims, so check with your provider if you plan to make a claim.
