Want answers for your symptoms?

DVT can be silent, until it isn’t.

A clot that travels to your lungs can be fatal within hours. Understand your risk before it becomes an emergency.

What

What is Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)?

DVT is a condition where a blood clot forms in a deep vein, most commonly in the legs or thighs. These clots can partially or completely block blood flow, leading to symptoms such as leg swelling, pain, warmth, or redness.

Certain factors increase the risk of DVT, including:

⚠️ Some DVT cases show no symptoms until a PE occurs

DVT is important to detect early because a clot can sometimes break loose and travel to the lungs, causing a serious condition known as a pulmonary embolism (PE).

● Stage 1

Deep Vein Thrombosis

A blood clot forms silently in the deep vein of the leg — often with no warning

Blood clot Swelling & pain Heart
  • Clot blocks blood flow deep in the leg vein
  • Leg may feel swollen, warm or painful — or nothing at all
  • Clot can dislodge and enter the bloodstream at any moment
Clot travels
⚠ Stage 2 — Emergency

Pulmonary Embolism

The clot reaches the lungs — blocking oxygen. This can cause cardiac arrest and death

Clot blocked No O₂ Heart strain ⚠ Chest pain · Breathlessness Rapid heartbeat · Collapse
  • Clot travels through the heart into the pulmonary artery
  • Lung is starved of blood — oxygen fails to reach vital organs
  • Can cause sudden cardiac arrest — fatal within hours
